What is MATP?

Medical Assistance Transportation Program (MATP) provides FREE non-emergency medical transportation to Butler County residents of all ages for any health care service covered by Medical Assistance.

Eligibility

• You are a Butler County resident.

• You must have a valid Pennsylvania Medical Assistance Card.

• Medical Assistance eligibility must be verified according to PA Department of Human Services guidelines and the MATP within 30 days.

Things to Know

• Must need transportation to a medical provider who accepts the Medical Assistance card.

• Depending on where you need to go, MATP can arrange a ride for you using vans or accessible vehicles for persons with disabilities.

• Expect to ride with other passengers. If you use your own transportation, Butler County MATP will provide mileage reimbursement at the current state rate.

• Parking and turnpike toll costs will also be reimbursed.

• For a child who is under 18, a parent or guardian must accompany the child to appointments at no cost.

Registration

• Call 1-866-638-0598 to register.

• Have your Medical Assistance card number ready.

• You will be asked some questions about your transportation needs.

• Tell your call center representative about any special needs you may have:

  • if you use a wheelchair or walker;

  • have any problem that keeps you from riding in a vehicle with other people; or

  • if you need to have someone go with you to your appointments.

• Let us know if you have disabilities or limitations preventing you from getting to the curb. MATP is required to provide door-to-door service when medically necessary.

Purpose

Butler County MATP is a service of Alliance for Nonprofit Resources in conjunction with the PA Department of Human Services and the Butler County Commissioners.
