Guidelines for BART Riders

Eligibility:

  • 18 years of age and older only
  • Resident of Butler County
  • Pre-registration is required

Reservations:

  • Call BART at 724-282-6060, Monday – Thursday, 8AM-3PM or Friday, 8AM-1PM
  • Please leave a detailed message on voicemail if you are unable to speak to a BART staff member
  • Trip requests left on voicemail must be confirmed by a BART staff member

Hours of Transportation Service within Butler County:

  • Monday – Friday for appointments beginning no earlier than 7AM and no later than 3PM
  • Exceptions may be considered for critical medical trips only – on a case-by-case basis

Out of County Trips:

  • Appointments must fall between the hours of 8AM and 3PM on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays only

All Butler Area Rural Transit (BART) vehicles are accessible and usable by persons with disabilities.

  • BART is a shared ride service – expect to ride with others
  • BART is a curb-to-curb service – be prepared to get to and from the BART vehicle
  • If you need assistance, adult escorts are permitted with prior approval when reserving your trip
  • Riders will be contacted with their pick up time one day prior to their scheduled appointment- be prepared to board the vehicle when it arrives
  • Cancellations must occur at least one hour prior to pick up time – frequent no-shows may result in the loss of riding privileges
  • Open food or drink is not permitted on BART
  • For shopping, all items must fit within your personal seating space and you (or your escort) are responsible to carry all items
